Hi all how are you?  Here is your weekly newsletter to keep you up to date with everything that is happening in the studio.

OMG I have missed a whole week sending out the newsletter – these bank holidays don’t half throw you!!  Well the jubilee weekend – what can I say it was AMAZING – I won 2 tickets to go to Buckingham Palace for a picnic and then to watch the Diamond Jubilee Concert.  I took my Mum with me and you can see her in the picture above drinking Moet in the Palace grounds!!

Last week back at the studio just seemed to fly by with us having the extra day holiday as well, this weekend just gone was a little more chilled, I had a couple of friends visit, but managed to get some time to sit and read a book and go to the pictures too.

This week has seen the start of another Kick Start Fat Loss group and Peak Physique Fitness & Fat Loss.  So I am looking forward to changing some more people’s lives.  I will keep you posted on their progress.  The next start dates are Monday July, 9th click here for more info

Class of the Week.

I have given the timetable another shake up – I have run a lot of classes because I love them and I love my members, but some haven’t made good business sense so, after lots of humming and haaing it is time for me to get more business minded – so if numbers start to drop in classes then they are going to be removed from the timetable so I really need your help to make sure that if you love a class you need to attend as often as you can and also tell all of your friends, family and colleagues.

Adults Street Dance class with Popping & Locking  – This brilliant class will be leaving the timetable at the end of this month if I don’t get any more people to attend – so if you have been thinking to yourself – I would love to give that a go, then you need kick yourself up the backside and get to the class.

If you don’t know what that is then please click on this link and you will see a video

The 3 Most Asked Questions about Good Nutrition?

Q. Why am I being told not to eat cereal for breakfast, I thought it was healthy?

A. There is only us and America that eat cereal for breakfast, most other countries have protein plus veg – if you look at Asian countries for example they have the same type of food for breakfast as they do for every other meal.

The reason why cereal is not so good for you for breakfast as most of them are very high in sugar.  If you start your day off eating a sugary breakfast your insulin levels will spike and then fall leaving you hungry again in a couple of hours.  Also most cereals out there by the time they are in your bowl have had all the goodness they may have started with removed during the process to make them into that particular cereal.  Protein however – eggs, meat, fish etc. for one keep you fuller for longer, therefore stopping the insulin rollercoaster.

Q. Why am I being told not to drink milk, I thought it was good for me and had lots of Calcium.

A. Firstly we are the only mammal that drinks milk after being a baby and also we are definitely the only mammal that drinks another animals milk.  I mean you don’t see a dog going to drink off a cow do you?  Also again the dairy cows are pumped full of hormones so that they keep producing milk and then once they have been milked the process that it goes through to end up in the bottle on our breakfast table, takes out any goodness it may have had in the beginning.  There is more calcium in green leafy vegetables than any dairy product.

Q. Why isn’t low fat food better for you?

A. Fat is good for you as long as it is the correct type of fat.  We need fat in our diet, to have healthy cells.  The problem with low fat food is that when they remove the fat from the food to make it taste nice they replace it with lots of sugar and/or chemicals.  Look at this picture of 2 types of margarine and one butter – the ants are all over the real butter but no where near the margarine.  They know the difference between real food and fake.  I am not saying to go and eat a whole load of fatty food, but cooking with coconut oil, dressing with olive oil and if you want to have a spread go for organic butter and not margarine and stay away from processed foods that claim to be low fat!
